Scale Space

Scale space is the space of measurements that you can get after blurring image by successively larger and larger Gaussian kernels.

Smooth away noises by blurring image is to make measurements at large scales (or say we use a larger apertures). So it gets above the scale of the noise, and only make measurements at scales more natural for objects in the image.

Image pyramid.
